According to reports from sources within Iran, several newly-converted Christians have been captured by undercover security forces of IRGC’s intelligent organization. Four newly-converted Christians have been sentenced to serve ten years in jail as a result of being active members of Iran’s Church. The verdict has been issued in by the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Iran, where they stood trial for “Zionist Christianity promotion and running church sessions at home”.
A few Reports claim that Razmik Zadorian, Shahab Bani Bayat, and Mohammmad Mohagheghe Dolatabadi were captured on 17 June 2018 in Karaj and Shahin Shakib and Vahid Dehghani were also arrested on the following day in Tehran, after their home were raided by the security forces of IRGC and their belongings including their mobile phones, PCs and books were confiscated by security forces.
In the past days, their families’ efforts in finding out their conditions and whereabouts were unsuccessful as they were told that all arrests were made by the IRGC’s intelligent organization. Some also reported that they were threatened by the authorities after asking questions about their detained family members.
Moreover, another report suggests that the ten years imprisonment sentences of four Iranian newly-converted Christians were approved by the supreme court after unsuccessful appeals.
One of the four convicts, is Yousef Nadrkhani, an Iranian priest who has previously been imprisoned by the Islamic Republic’s authorities. Mohammadreza Omidi, Yaser Mosayebzadeh and Saheb Fadaie are also among the convicts and were captured a few years ago due to Zionist Christianity and threatening the national security by promoting Christianity.
Nadrkhani and Omidi were also accused of getting financial aids from Britain to run their operations. Also, three people have been lashed eighty times each due to consuming alcoholic drinks when they were practicing their religion.
Iran have been violating the rights of minorities with more intensity in recent years and repeatedly imprisoned a large number of its citizens solely because of their beliefs and religion.
